The PCA Stadium at Mohali located on the outskirts of Chandigarh is one of India’s newest test venues. It was one of the first modern cricket stadiums of the country, and quickly became popular for the quality of its media facilities, practise facilities and spectator friendly stands.

In the initial years, Mohali was famous for producing very un-India like wickets with lots of pace and bounce. In the very first match, India succumbed for just 114 against the West Indian pace battery. In yet another test here, the home team were dismissed for all of 83 runs on the first day.

The PCA Stadium hosted the World Cup semi-final match between Australia and West Indies in 1992. In a tight contest, Australia came back from behind to defeat West Indies and enter the final of the world cup.
